About

Welcome to Out Of Da Closet, where we specialize in creating fun and versatile designs that are as unique as you are. Everything is made in Australia (Melbourne & Sydney) as we take pride in treating people and the earth kindly. We not only have a passion for fashion, but our ability to bring timeless pieces to your closet.

We believe that fashion shouldn't harm the planet, which is why we manufacture in small numbers and use deadstock fabrics to minimise waste and ensure each release is unique. We also only release pieces that our social media community tell us they want, and in the sizes they want. This means we don't follow a standard season formula, which also decreases waste.
We value customer satisfaction, which is why we prioritise open communication and collaboration throughout the design process. We listen to your ideas, provide expert advice, and make adjustments as needed to ensure that the final product exceeds your expectations.
Discover the joy of wearing clothing that is unique and comfortable.

Ask us anything, we strive to be fully upfront as we aim to change industry standards, one dress at a time.
I fell in love with fashion playing with Barbie's & Bratz, watching America's Next Top Model, and old movies with Audrey & Marilyn. I'm Ally, the designer and owner of OODC. I started sewing as a kid when my mum and auntie taught me the basics. I moved into altering my clothes because I could never find anything that fit. Everything felt like it was following a specific, singular trend, and was only for one body type. I started designing my own clothes after high school and realised the importance of quality fabrics and ethical practices.
I want to make clothes for everybody, at every stage of life.
I will admit, I never formally studied fashion, and I don't make every piece myself. Quality is so important to me, that's why I outsource to a manufacturer in Melbourne. I design every piece, then run it by people in my life that I trust before putting it to the social media community and asking for improvements (like pockets!)
